Celebrate Black History Month by joining a special screening of CBS's Beyond the Gates at The Paley Center, the groundbreaking first-ever one-hour Black daytime soap opera. This momentous series marks a new era in television, being the first new daytime drama in twenty-six years. Set in an exclusive gated community in one of the most affluent African American counties in the United States, Beyond the Gates centers on the Duprees—a prestigious, multi-generational family that exemplifies Black royalty. In true soap opera fashion, the Duprees’ world is filled with tantalizing secrets and scandals ready to be unraveled.

The Paley Museum's initial PaleyImpact program for 2025, titled “Making Soap Opera History with CBS’s Beyond the Gates,” will kick off with The Black History Month Experience Presented by Citi. This event includes a screening of the premiere episode and a discussion with the cast and creators. It is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, at 6:30 pm at The Paley Museum in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

Following the screening of the series premiere, don't miss the chance to hear from the cast and creators, including Tamara Tunie ("Anita Dupree"), Daphnee Duplaix ("Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson"), and executive producer Sheila Ducksworth. They will discuss this groundbreaking series, which is set to premiere Monday, February 24, on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
