'Found' Season 2, Episode 11 "Missing While Misunderstood" Review

I need to lay down. Did that just happen?! In the middle of the season? Between the case of the week and the avalanche of reveals, FOUND was an emotionally packed episode bursting from beginning to end. Grab some Kleenex as we recap the episode [SPOILERS] At first, I thought Gina confronting Sir with a shotgun was the ultimate reveal. I was wrong. In the most unexpected way, Sir walked into M&A to see his beloved Gabrielle, who apparently knew he would come to her. And as a good host, she had a gift waiting for him – the police. Yes friends, Sir is officially captured.

Non-stop revelations unfold throughout this episode as we see unlikely but highly welcomed scenes connecting characters. The highlight for me was the face-off between Gina and Sir. That was not on my bingo card. And Gina, one of the best voices on the show, had a college level thesis paper ready for him. Along with her shotgun.

The level of excitement I had during this scene is indescribable. Gina had a trap ready for Sir and she caught him! Well prepared, Gina unloaded all the research she did on him. She wanted the man who recked her life know she studied him. And all she feels is pity. Though fiercely protective, Gina does not shoot Sir as he called her bluff. Instead, she hit the panic button, and he ran away, leaving behind a roll of duct tape.

The case of the week is a heart-felt, patch work story of fathers and sons. If you are familiar with Elijah McClain, you will see several notes interweaved in this important story. The writers did an extraordinary job layering the many emotional beats within this case.

TJ, a neurodivergent, ran away to meet his long-lost brother, Max, who is unaware that he has a brother or that his adopted parents paid his biological father to stay away. Once Max’s father sees TJ, he sends him away and tells him not to come back. This leads to an unfortunate set of events where the police arrests TJ and send him to a group home. When the M&A team arrives at the home, TJ is no longer there, but they meet a sweet young boy name Jordan who became friends with TJ. As the team pools all the clues together, they find TJ buried in a punishment box behind the group home.

A painful reminder of how cruel people can be to those who are a little different. It made my heart ache for all the lost TJs in the world. This case also showed the love of fathers for their children. So many healing hearts as everyone embraced each other and became an expanded family unit, including Jordan who now has a foster dad. This was a well done, thought-provoking case of the week filled with compassion and love.

Back to the search for Sir. Surprisingly, an odd twist of events led to Gabi and Heather finally meeting. On her way to meet Trent, Heather said Christian drove up next to her and shot into her car. When Gabi meets her at the hospital for questioning, Heather realizes she is the one who broke Trent’s heart. Marking her territory, Heather says, “I’ll take good care of him.” Heather plans to stay for a while. I do wonder though if she is connected to Sir. Time will tell.

In a flash back to young Bella and Gabi, I think the ultimate, sweetest surprise was learning how Bella got her new name, Lacey. From a book of names, Bella and Gabi choose Lacey which means cheerful. And as Gabi prepares to leave, we hear Lacey’s sweet voice say, “Thank you Gabi.” Pass the Kleenex!

As the episode closes, Gabi can move on with her life knowing that Sir is captured. That includes turning herself in to the police. As the M&A team process their new reality without her, Margaret goes back to her sanctuary – the bus station. “Hi mom,” she hears and turns around to see a young man with brown hair. Is that Jamie?! Could it be that simple? Standing outside the bus station? And now we wait for the next episode to get our questions answered. Is that Jamie? And where has he been?
